Home Art
Home Art - St Kilda is a community project where community members collaborate with established Melbourne artists to create performances in their own homes for their friends and neighbours.
Everyone has something to say, a dance or a song inside them. This was the starting point for Ranters’ director Adriano Cortese, choreographer Jo Lloyd, and musician/performer Jeremy Stanford, to create three short works with members of the East St Kilda community.
The project is a low carbon footprint event where audience members are encouraged to use public transport or bicycles to attend the event. Supporting this on the day of the performance, the audience walks between the performances from home to home. The project models a new way of making low impact art that offers a chance for neighbours to see each other in a new light.
